Ted Scapa emerged throughout whole Switzerland in the sixties and seventies through the TV broadcast for children “Das Spielhaus”.
Born on January 17, 1931 in Holland, Ted studied at the art academy in Den Haag followed by a working year abroad – for instance in the USA, in India, in Indonesia and Hong-Kong.
As a cartoonist he drew for different international newspapers and magazines and published numerous books for children and a collection of cartoons. In 1963 Ted Scapa moved to Switzerland and run the Benteli-Verlag in Bern and the corresponding printer’s shop for over thirty years. Since his retirement, he lives and works as a freelance artist in Vallamand at Lake Murten and in Brittany/Bretagne. He teaches creativity workshops for adults and children, draws, paints and creates sculptures and light objects.
Moreover, Ted Scapa participated at the exposition “La Poya des artistes” in the Restoroute de la Gruyère, where they had to bedight full-size cows.
