Section 13 Schwarzenburg–Fribourg: 20 km
The trail leads along the Sensegraben, popular recreational area and nature reserve. After the Sodbachbrücke bridge, numerous religious symbols along the wayside are a clear indication that you’ve crossed the border into the Catholic canton of Fribourg.

Section 14 Fribourg–Romont (FR): 30km

The city of Fribourg with its numerous historic references to St James and the St James pilgrims would be worth the journey on its own. The pilgrims’ path leads over the St Apolline bridge and through the varied landscape of the Glâne to Romont.

Section 15 Romont (FR)–Moudon: 15 km

The boundary between cantons Fribourg and Vaud is crossed over a ridge with sweeping views as far as Curtilles on both sides. A riverside path follows the Broye. The parish church in Moudon with its valuable choir stalls is well worth a visit.

Section 32 Fribourg (Villars-sur-Glâne)–Payerne:22 km

On the Via Jacobi to Payerne, a St James’ cross erected in 1981 at the edge of the Belle-Croix forest has an eventful past. The distinctive sunken paths in this forest are evidence of the medieval link from Freiburg toPayerne.
