On September 24th 2006 the population of Fribourg approved the construcion of the Poya Bridged. The Bridge opening is planned for 2010.

The original Bern bridge was built a century after the city's foundation. The 40-meter long bridge has ever since been constantly renovated yet stands as Fribourg's last bridge made of wood.

Built in 1720, this one replaced a covered wooden bridge from 1275. This 4-arch - 70m-long bridge used to be a covered bridge made of wood (1275). Let your eyes caress the old part of town and the impressive Bourguillon cliffs.

Built between 1956 and 1960 to replace the old suspended bridge that was 150 meters long.

Originally, this bridge was a covered, wooden structure with 3 tuff-stone arches. The year 1746 saw the birth of the bridge you can walk on today.

First was the Frenchman Joseph Chaley's suspended bridge (1834) yet today's 165-meter long bridge was stretched out into the open in 1924.
